Good afternoon. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools.
On Tuesday, December 19, our internet service provider WVNET will be completing network maintenance on their server systems. It is very likely all governmental agencies and schools in West Virginia will not have internet access. However, all school phone systems should work if you need to contact the school. School personnel are aware of the internet outage and have adjusted their plans accordingly. Tuesday will be our last full day of school before Christmas break, while on Wednesday, December 20, students will be dismissed 3 hours early. Please have a wonderful Holiday Season.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is projected to be released December 31. A big change this year is the FSA ID needs to be created and approved before the FAFSA can be submitted. This approval can take up to 3 days, so creating it now is recommended. Your FSA ID is your electronic signature that will be used to sign the FAFSA. Students should have created their ID in English classes back in October. For parents, if you are married and file jointly, only one parent needs an FSA ID. If you are married and file separately, both parents need an FSA ID. Information for divorced parents and to create your FSA ID can be found at studentaid.gov. If you have further questions, you can call 1 877 987 7664 or call the school and ask to speak with Tina Holley, 12th grade counselor.

Staff, parents and students,
Ripley High School will be undergoing a new install of lights for the baseball and softball fields. While that’s exciting, it also poses a parking and traffic problem.
The parking lot in front of the main building and annex will temporarily be shut down starting Wednesday. After that, we will only have part of the parking lot until the completion of the project.
With that being said, we request that if at all possible, students be dropped off or ride the bus until the parking situation is fixed. We understand that this isn’t a possibility for everyone, however, we are trying to minimize the amount of traffic and vehicles to be parked.
If this isn’t possible, and your student must drive to school we ask that drivers park at Ripley Elementary, the Early Learning Center, the city pool, the new Police Department (which is the old R&R Auto Sales) or the gravel area by the softball field.
The upper parking lot will be designated for staff parking only while the annex lot is shut down on Wednesday.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach Mr. Swiney at (304) 372-7355 or at cswiney@k12.wv.us.

Ripley High School will be open on Monday, September 18, 2023. Water was restored to the building yesterday, while custodians and other support staff finished cleaning the first floor of the main building this morning. I would like to take a second to thank all the community agencies, the Jackson County Schools Maintenance Department, and other school personnel for their help over the last three days. You are greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

This evening Football needs to meet at 3:30 in the locker room, Cheerleaders at 3:45 in the cheer room, Band at 3:45 in the band room, Volleyball at 2:00 in the annex, Boys Soccer at 5:00 on the field, and Girls Soccer at 4:00 on the field.

Good Afternoon! Due to the water line break on the first floor of the main building at Ripley High School, all students were dismissed early. At this time, all students have left campus either by bus, driving, or pick up. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Parents and Guardians,
Unfortunately, Ripley High School has a severe waterline break on the first floor of the main building. All Water is currently shut off to the school. At this time, we have no other option but to dismiss students for the remainder of the day. If your child is a walker or driver, they will be dismissed within the next fifteen minutes. If your child rides a bus, the buses should arrive at Ripley High School around 12:30 to take students home. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Thank you.

Attention 12th grade parents/guardians... There will be an organizational meeting for Project Graduation on Monday, Sept. 18, at 6pm in the Ripley HS library. Any 12th grade parents/guardians interested in helping plan Project Graduation are welcome!

Seniors, the breakfast being provided for you this morning 7am to 7:30 has been moved to the main gym.

Attention Seniors who park in the Annex lot: Part of the lot is flooded at this time, the water may go down before you arrive. If your spot is covered and you can not park there please park in the lower lot by the board office instead of taking someone else's parking space. Thank you!

Hello and good evening! This is a reminder that school pictures are tomorrow for all students.

Good evening. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools. Wednesday brings much anticipation with the start of a new school year. I am so excited to see our students and employees back in our buildings as we continue to work together to become the #1 school district in our state.
We begin this school by sharing wonderful news – Jackson County Schools is now the 5th-ranked school district in WV in ELA and Math proficiency, moving up five spots from last year.
We are so fortunate to have a fantastic community of parents and guardians that understand the importance of a first-class education and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our students and schools.
As I just mentioned, our goal is to be # 1. Leading the state will not come easy. It will take hard work, determination, and perseverance from our children and the entire community to demand high expectations and excellence in our schools.
I believe in the power of public education, as well as our parents, our employees, and especially our communities. Anything is possible; we must be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish our goal.
As always, I ask for your patience on the first day of school. There are many moving parts that we will continually perfect throughout the year. Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement as we start another exciting school year. Congratulations on your work being a Top 5 school district in the state of WV.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Hello and good day! Seniors who painted parking spots, by 4pm today please remember to remove all material from blocking your spot. Parking spots will be needed for the game tonight. Thank you!

Hello and good day! Ripley High School students will be pay half price for attending the Boys home soccer match tomorrow evening 6:30pm against Point Pleasant. This gift is made possible by a local donor.
