Former Ripley Elementary students came back to encourage current RES students to make good life choices. They shared the following message with approximately 100 students: Work hard, persevere, stay away from drugs, try hard in school, respect authority, and always do your best.



The Jackson County Board of Education presented an “Education Service Award” to recent retirees at this evening’s Board Meeting.


Ravenswood High School’s Rave Revue was recognized for their 1st place finish in Cathy Justice’s, West Virginia’s First Lady, “Songs for West Virginia” contest.

Kenna Elementary’s 5th-grade students have begun the school year with a collaboration to create an electronic tour guide of their building.




Ravenswood Middle Community Open House Information


Ripley Middle School students are receiving iPads today. This is year 2 of the 1:1 initiative at our middle schools. Ravenswood Middle School students are scheduled to receive iPads next week.



On August 19, 2019, the new Ravenswood Middle School opened for students. The $13.1 million project was funded by the School Building Authority of West Virginia and the Jackson County Board of Education.


Excitement filled the hallways as community members, parents, grandparents and students toured the new Ravenswood Middle School during orientation.
