This is a reminder that the first day of school for Ripley Elementary will be tomorrow, August 19. We are excited to welcome our students back and begin a great school year together.

This is a reminder that the Elementary Track Championship Meet begins tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at Ripley High School.
Please be advised that due to multiple events on campus, parking will be limited. We recommend using the Ripley Elementary School parking lot, which is just a short walk from the track.

Good morning, Gilmore Elementary families. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools, calling with an important update regarding today’s schedule.
Due to damage from last night’s storms, AEP just informed us, at 7:45 a.m., that they must repair a broken electric pole in our area today. As a result, Gilmore Elementary will lose power starting at 10:30 a.m.
Therefore, we will dismiss students early today, March 12, at 10:00 a.m. Buses: Will run their normal routes starting at 10:00 a.m.
Please ensure someone is available to meet your student at the usual drop-off point or at the school for pick-up. If you have any questions, please call Gilmore Elementary School.

As our county prepares for potential inclement weather tomorrow morning, we wanted to share our plan for monitoring the situation. JCS administrators are attending a school weather briefing at 8:00 p.m. tonight to gain more insight into the system's timing, and our teams will begin evaluating road conditions at 4:15 a.m. If a delay is necessary, we will send out a formal announcement around 5:30 a.m. Thank you for your patience, and please have a safe and wonderful evening.

Jackson County Schools will now be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026. While road conditions in the northern part of the county have improved, several routes in the southern region remain hazardous for travel. Employees will operate on a Code B.
Jackson County Schools will be on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 23, 2026. We will continue to evaluate road conditions this morning and send another communication on or before 7:30 a.m. Thank you.
