Dear Kenna Elementary Families and Staff,
We have been closely monitoring the HVAC system throughout the day. Currently, the building temperature is nearing normal levels, just a few degrees shy of our target.
We will continue to monitor the system this evening and conduct a final temperature check at 5:45 a.m. If the system fails overnight, we will send a notification first thing in the morning.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Have a wonderful evening.
Please be advised that Kenna Elementary will be dismissing early today at 10:30 a.m. due to natural gas supply issues affecting our heating and hot water systems.
Buses will begin lining up at the school around 10:20 a.m. Staff members will remain on-site until all students have been safely transported home.
We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we ensure the comfort and safety of our students. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at 304-372-2262.
Good evening. Due to windchill temperatures tomorrow morning reaching a sub 0 temperature, Jackson County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay. Parents, please do not have your child wait outside on a bus for more than 10 minutes. If you would like to know the exact location of your child’s bus, please download the Zonar app at https://tinyurl.com/yrzg8c4s Thank you, and have a wonderful evening.

After receiving updates from our drivers regarding morning road conditions, Jackson County Schools will continue to operate on a two-hour delay for Tuesday, December 9. Ninety-five percent of our bus routes are not affected.
However, if a bus cannot run your child's route, and you believe road conditions are still unsafe to meet the bus at a designated area, please send a note with your child to school the next day.
Also, please continue to monitor the Zonar App for bus updates.
Thank you, and have a great day.
The Non-Traditional Instructional Day has been canceled. Therefore, students will not be required to complete work remotely, and schools will remain closed. Jackson County Schools will operate on a Code A. The following personnel will report to their work locations: All 260-day personnel, principals, assistant principals, and custodians. Thank you.
